Disability Awareness in Sport
In January 2019, third class got the opportunity to experience what it is like to play soccer when you are blind.
A huge thank you to parent, Nick Harrison who came in to coach this session. Nick works as a disability coach with the FAI.
The Walking Bus is back for 2018
The Walking Bus would not be possible without the organisation done by Mrs Daly! Thank you to all the parents who volunteer. Our partnership with our parents is a very important part of our school. We had 100 girls walking last Friday 19th, 2018 and the Golden Boot Award went to 4th class. Well done to everyone.

Super Troopers Demo at Assembly
Super Troopers is an active homework intitative which is supported by Laya Helathcare. Each child has a Super Troopers booklet which has many varied and fun activities. It even has recipes to try and tips to become more mindful.
Parents are encourgaed to get involved in some fun activities at home also.
Senior Infants and Third Class do a demonstration of the activities for the upcoming month.
Cork City Sports 2018
Everyone had a great day last Friday when our school was represented at Cork City Sports. Thank you to Ms O' Mahony, Mrs. Crowley, Ms O' Connor and Ms Murphy who were instrumental in training the girls. Well done girls!
Clonakilty Parish Primary Athletics Day
What a fantastic day was had at the Clonakilty Road Runners Parish Athletics Day. The weather was amazing and the event was so well organised! A huge thank you to Aidan McCarthy (Knockskeagh NS) and the Clonakilty Road Runners for organising this event for schools in Clonakilty Parish!
An Taisce "Clean Coast"
Each year, third class take part in the 'Clean Coast' initiate which is run by An Taisce. The girls collect litter in the local area and are always surprised by how much they collect.

Splash & Dash
A total of 17 girls from 5th and 6th class took part in the annual 'Splash and Dash' in Dunmanway on Monday 14th May.
This initiative is run by Cork Sports Partnership and Triathlon Ireland.
The girls swam 50m (2 lengths) and then ran 400m.
It was a non competitive competition.
The girls really enjoyed the experience.

Skip Hop Workshops
The girls in St Joseph's have taken part in a skipping workshop.
Inter Schools Tag Rugby Blitz
Each year 6th class pupils play in a tag rugby blitz. This is organised by Clonakilty Rugby Club. The girls really look forward to this event.

Playball!
Pupils from Juniors to 2nd are given the opportunity to take part in Playball for a number of weeks each year. The girls benefit from expert coaching in the fundamental movement skills of throwing, catching, jumping, landing, balancing and striking.
